One line
Dual Recorder records the front and back iPhone cameras in one take and saves the combined video, a clean video per camera, or both.
Short
Dual Recorder turns an iPhone into a two-camera studio. It records the front and back cameras at the same time, or the wide and ultra-wide lenses together, and lets you choose what the take saves: one combined video with the picture-in-picture window already in place, a clean full-frame video from each camera, or all three, same length, same size, lined up frame for frame. Four layouts, a photo mid-take, a teleprompter over the preview, a library that keeps a take’s files together, and an editor with on-device captions complete it. Recording is free; exporting is PRO.
Long
Most dual-camera apps give you one video with the second camera burned in. Dual Recorder asks what the take should keep before you press record. Combined writes one video with the window or split baked in. Separate writes a clean video from each camera. Both writes all three. Every file starts on the same frame and shares one size, so the clean videos line up in any editor without syncing.
Two cameras share one frame in four ways: a floating window that can be dragged, resized and reshaped into a rectangle, circle, square or star; two straight splits, over / under and side by side; and a diagonal seam. The seam is a drag, each camera zooms on its own, and the file matches the preview to the pixel. A take that saved its clean files can be rearranged afterwards in the editor’s Layout tool.
Around the recording: a photo can be taken mid-take without stopping, a teleprompter scrolls the script over the preview just under the front camera, the light works during a take, the volume buttons act as the shutter, and a brightness drag with an exposure lock replaces the usual menu. The library groups takes by day with what each one costs. The editor trims on a filmstrip, crops to any shape and, on iOS 26, writes captions on the device for SRT export or burn-in. Settings shows the size and frame rate the camera is really recording in each mode, not just what was asked for. Everything happens on the phone; there is no account.
